She's 2!

Yes, I haven't posted in 10 million years but we finally
have the camera/software issue resolved and
I promise to put up pics more often.
Here's Lucy at her grandparents, Nona and Popi's
house doing one of her favorite things....
trying to ride dogs. Keep trying.
Someday they might submit and it will have been worth the effort.

This is a favorite of mine.
She's been to a few birthdays this last year and
I think shes asking Sam "Is everyone really singing for me?".

Best close up I could get on her birthday.
She either won't stand still, or shes making this face.

Aww ...Fall Leaves. We got her some cute red galoshes, which she won't wear
but loves to just carry around while she plays outside.

I love this one too.
She was dressed up and ready to go for Hanukkah.
Great Grandma Miriam (G.G.) made the jacket which is so cute.

Trip to Black Butte

I miss summer already.
Swimming at the Ranch.

At The High Desert Museum,
you can pretend are homesteading and practice doing chores.
Lucy excels at porch scrubbing. She would have done that all day if we'd let her.

She is watching a turtle eat his lunch and making the sign for "Eat".

Jumping in mud puddles at the mouth of the Metolius River.

July 2008

Lucy on Sauvies Island.

Look at how many ripe currents are ready for picking!
I was surpized by how much Lucy liked them,
considering how tart they are.
We've dried them and made scones and dumped them in vodka for creme de cassis.
We have been having so much fun berry picking this summer.

Guarding my box of blackberries.

I know some people will be bothered that Lucy was naked in the sun,
but on the hottest days she really enjoys watering the garden in the evenings while naked.
Who am I to deny her this simple pleasure.
It only takes a few minutes to water the garden, and to be honest,
I envy her lack of self conciousness.

July 4th at Seaside

Searching for seashells at Seaside.

Sam is always hunting. This time for razor clams.

She found a whole sand dollar.

The clouds look ominous and the wind was blowing hard but it was actually warm out there.
You can't ask for more at the Oregon Coast.

The crowds were gathering on the beach. At least 9 million people in Seaside that weekend.
We were lucky enough to have a cozy beach house to retreat to.

More Berry Picking

We make Lucy work for her food. Its pretty easy though...look at those berries.
The picking was easy.

Oops...she found a yucky one!

Raspberry picking last week. She'll make a good farmer.

Lucy and Grandma Brenda say hello to the roosters.
And Lucy meets Lucy..the Llama that is.

Strawberry Fields

Its important to stay hydrated while working in the fields.

Lucy loves strawberries so we couldn't miss this chance.
The weather was perfect and the berries are finally ready to pick.

After an hour she decided her bandana was better worn this way.

One last serious strawberry on the wagon ride back to the car.
